For many people, taking a vacation means leaving everything behind, and they do mean everything. Unfortunately, for some this also means forgetting about the exercise routine. Some people can do this with few or no consequences. Others, however, cannot or should not let their exercise routines slip, even while they are on vacation.
Fortunately, it is possible to continue your fitness regimen even while you are on vacation. And there are so many ways of doing this that it is almost impossible to get bored. If this is your first time on a cruise ship, most likely one of the first things you will want to do is to see as much of the ship as possible. What better way of doing this than walking the decks of the ship? If it is a multi-deck ship, you can schedule a daily walk on a different deck as part of your cruise ship fitness plan. After that, you can enjoy one of the sumptuous meals (in moderation, of course) before hitting the pool later that afternoon for a swim.
The next day, your schedule can include taking a walk on one of the other decks, then either hitting the fitness room (many ships have them) or taking a dance class. If they don’t have a fitness room, take advantage of the rails and handholds that are placed along corridors to aid you in walking and hold them while you do some squats and lunges.
If there are no dance classes scheduled, look to see if any special dances are being held. Remember that dancing, even ballroom dancing, is also good exercise, so take advantage of these as part of your cruise ship fitness plan. Then, have some fun by rewarding yourself for not taking a vacation from exercise by allowing yourself one indulgence — either a decadent dessert or one extra trip to the midnight buffet. You’ve deserved it.
